Trachizan is used for the local treatment of inflammations and infections of the oral cavity and throat, such as inflammations of the oral mucosa and gums, periodontitis (inflammation of the gums with progressive exposure and loosening of the teeth), glossitis (inflammation of the tongue), angina, pharyngitis (inflammation of the throat), difficulty swallowing.
1. What Trachisan is and what it is used for
Lozenges
Trachizan is used for the local treatment of inflammations and infections of the oral cavity and throat, such as inflammations of the oral mucosa and gums, periodontitis (inflammation of the gums with progressive exposure and loosening of the teeth), glossitis (inflammation of the tongue), angina, pharyngitis (inflammation of the throat), difficulty swallowing. For the prevention of infections before and after surgical operations in the oral cavity and throat (extraction of a tooth, surgical treatment of gums, removal of tonsils).
Inflammation in the oral cavity can be caused by pathogenic and other factors. The symptoms are redness and hypersensitivity of the mucous membranes, accompanied by a burning sensation in the mouth area, difficulty swallowing, sore throat and hoarse voice.
The combination of active substances contained in Trachizan tablets has an antibacterial, antiseptic and pain-relieving effect, which significantly improves the condition.
Trachizan tablets do not contain sugar, therefore they do not pose a risk of caries development.
2. What you need to know before you use Trachisan
Do not use Trachisan
if you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
in extensive injuries of the oral mucosa
for large fresh wounds in the oral cavity in children under 6 years of age
Warnings and precautions
In case of intolerance to fructose, treatment is carried out only after consultation with a doctor. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Trachizan.
Other medicines and Trachisan
So far, there are no known adverse drug reactions» as manifestations of drug interactions.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist» if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines.
Pregnancy, lactation and fertility
So far, there are no reports of harmful effects of Trachizan when used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Due to the lack of data, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the product can only be used after consulting a doctor.

Driving and using machines
Trachizan lozenges are believed to be safe and are unlikely to affect the ability to drive and use machines.
Trachisan contains sorbitol
When taken according to dosage recommendations, each dose provides 691.5 mg of sorbitol, corresponding to 0.057 bread units. The medicinal product is suitable for diabetics. Not suitable for congenital intolerance to fructose. May cause stomach irritation and diarrhea.
Due to the decrease in sensitivity in the area of the nasopharynx, the contents of the oral cavity may accidentally enter the respiratory tract, which requires increased caution when used by patients under 12 years of age.

3. How to use Trachisan
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
In adults: one tablet is sucked at intervals of two hours, up to 8 times a day;
Children over 6 years old - up to 6 times a day.
With regular use of the product, complaints usually disappear after a few days.
Duration of treatment
To ensure lasting success of the treatment, Trachizan is taken for another 2-3 days, even after the symptoms subside. In the absence of significant improvement after 10 days of use, a doctor's consultation is necessary.
Trachizan should not be used for more than 2 weeks without consulting a doctor.
If you have used more than the required dose of Trachizan
Due to the pharmacological properties of the product, no toxic effects are expected even with accidental ingestion of large amounts of Trachizan.
Treatment of choice for ingestion of very large amounts is gastric lavage.
If you forget to use Trachisan
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Instead, continue taking as directed.

4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
In rare cases, allergic reactions to thyrothricin may occur.
Trachisan tablets are generally well tolerated, but the product may cause a reduction in taste sensations and numbness of the tongue, which, as a rule, disappear completely within an hour.
Yellow to brownish discoloration of teeth, fillings, prostheses and tongue, which occurs in rare cases with long-term use, can be removed by careful maintenance of oral hygiene. The staining, however, also disappears spontaneously after stopping the use of the product
5. How to store Trachisan
Keep out of the reach of children.
To be stored in a dry place, at a temperature below 25°C.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the pack
Do not dispose of medicines down the drain or in the household waste container. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.

Thyrothricin 0.5 mg
Chlorhexidine digluconate 1.0 mg Lidocaine hydrochloride 1.0 mg
Excipients are: sorbitol, magnesium stearate, peppermint oil.
