 What SEFPOTEK8 and what it is used?

The name of your medicine is SEFPOTEK 200 mg tablets. Each tablet contains 260.90 mg tsefpodoksim proksetil equivalent to 200 mg tsefpodoksim.
Tsefpodoksim active substance is an antibiotic that is used to kill bacteria that cause infection in your body. Tsefpodoksim belongs to a group of antibiotics called cephalosporins.
Your medicine is used to treat infections of the ears, throat, sinuses, chest and lungs caused by bacteria. It may you be written in infections such as bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, otitis media and pneumonia. It can be used to treat skin infections, urinary tract infections (cystitis and kidney infections) and STIs (gonorrhea).

What you should know before taking SEFPOTEK?

Do not take SEFPOTEK

- If you are allergic to tsefpodoksim or antibiotics, other ingredients of this medicine (listed in Section 6).

Warnings and Precautions
Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you have allergies, especially to cephalosporins, penicillins or similar antibiotics. If an allergic reaction to tsefpodoksim proksetil, discontinue treatment.
Tell your doctor immediately if you have severe, persistent and / or bloody diarrhea during or after treatment with the tablets. This may be a sign of serious bowel inflammation (pseudomembranous colitis) that may occur after treatment with antibiotics and require discontinuation and initiation of specific therapy.

Taking other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or may take other drugs because some of them could interact with SEFPOTEK.
Tell your doctor if you are taking the following medicines as they may interfere with SEFPOTEK:
- Antacids used to treat indigestion
- Medicines to treat ulcers
- Diuretics, which are used to increase urine excretion as probenecid
- Medicines used to prevent kidney damage
Antacids and antiulcer treatment should be administered 2-3 hours post
SEFPOTEK tablets. In these cases, your doctor may change the treatment if deemed necessary.
If you need to do tests (blood, urine, or as a diagnostic test SootY) while taking this medication, tell your doctor that SEFPOTEK.

SEFPOTEK with food and drink
You should always take the tablets with food because it helps their operation.

Pregnancy and lactation
If you are pregnant or nursing, you think you may be pregnant or plan to become pregnant, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
Nursing mothers should not use SEFPOTEK. Consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding.
Driving and operating machinery
There are cases of dizziness. If you feel dizzy you should not drive, operate machinery or engage in activities that could put you at risk.

How to take SEFPOTEK?

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor tells you. If you are not sure. ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Your doctor will tell you how many tablets to take, what time to take the tablets and how long to take them.
The recommended dose is:
- Throat: 100 mg twice daily.
- Sinus infection: 200 mg twice daily.
- Infections of the breast and lung cancer: 200 mg twice daily.
- Infections of the urinary tract, eg. Cystitis: 100 mg twice daily.
- Kidney infection: 200 mg twice daily.
- Infections of the skin: 200 mg twice daily.
- Sexually transmitted infections gonorrhea: 200 mg single dose.
It is important to take your medicine at the right time of day. Always take the tablets with food because food helps the action of the tablets.

NOTE: Your doctor will advise what is the best way to take your medicine. Always follow this advice on when and how to take your medicine and always read the information on the box. Your pharmacist can also help if you are unsure.
If you take more than the dose SEFPOTEK
  If you take an overdose of this medicine, talk to your doctor or go to the emergency room of the nearest hospital. You may experience the following side effects: confusion, lack of emotion or interest, excitement.

If you forget to take SEFPOTEK
If you miss a dose of this medicine at the right time, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you stop taking SEFPOTEK
It is important to take this medication until you finish the prescribed course. You should not stop taking this medication just because you feel better. If you stop taking too soon, the infection may return.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

- POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Adverse reactions were evaluated according to the frequency with which they occur. For this purpose, the following categories of frequency of adverse drug reactions:
Common: Side effects that may occur in less than 1 person in every 10.
Uncommon: Side effects that may occur in less than 1 person in 100.
Rare: Side effects that may occur in less than 1 person in 1,000 patients.
Very rare: Side effects that may occur in less than 1 person in 10,000 patients.
Isolated cases: Side effects that may occur with even small numbers of patients.
Consult your doctor immediately if any of these rare but serious side effects occur: swelling in ankles / feet, tiredness, dizziness, rapid heartbeat / palpitations, breathing difficulties, impaired thinking / mood changes, new signs of infection (eg, fever, persistent sore throat), dark urine, constant nausea, vomiting, yellowing of the whites of the eyes / skin, easy bruising / bleeding, change in amount of urine, seizures.
Seek immediate medical attention if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur when you: vision changes, confusion, slurred speech,.
Gastrointestinal Disorders
Rare: pseudomembranous colitis due to type of resistant bacteria. This condition may occur during treatment or weeks to months after discontinuation of therapy. Consult your doctor immediately if you experience at: neotshumyavashta diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain / cramps, blood / mucus in your stool. If you have these symptoms, do not use drugs against diarrhea or narcotic painkillers as this can aggravate your symptoms.
Immune System
Uncommon: Allergic reactions, mucocutaneous reactions, skin rashes, hives (raised spots) and itching.
Very rare: skin reactions with blistering. If such symptoms occur, treatment with the product should be discontinued. Anaphylactic reactions (eg bronchospasm, purpura and swelling of the face and limbs).
Very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
Nervous System
Common: headache, dizziness, insomnia, numbness and tingling.
Metabolism and nutrition
Common: decreased appetite
Ear and labyrinth disorders
Uncommon: ringing in ears
Blood and lymphatic system
Rare: reducing the number of different cells in the blood, increasing the number of certain types of white blood cells, increasing the number of cells needed for blood clotting
Very rare: hemolytic anemia (type of anemia that can be severe and is caused by the rupture of red blood cells).
Hepatobiliary disorders
Rare: changes in blood tests that show how your liver function
Very rare: hepatic impairment
Although uncommon, this drug may affect your liver and blood. It can make you feel tired or your general condition deteriorated. If using this medicine for more than 10 days, your doctor may do a blood test, but this is normal procedure and therefore should not worry.
Renal and urinary disorders
Very Rare: elevated BUN and creatinine
General disorders and administration site conditions
Uncommon: malaise or fatigue
If you experience any side effects, tell your doctor.  

How to store Sefpotek?

  Keep out of reach of children. Store in the original package to protect from moisture. Do not store above 25 ° C.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
