Elocon WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED

Elocon cutaneous solution is medicine of the topical corticosteroids and is defined as "a potent corticosteroid." These drugs have anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and inflammatory properties.
Elocon cutaneous solution is used in adults and children to reduce the redness and itching caused by certain skin conditions that affect the hairy part of the scalp, such as psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis.

BEFORE YOU USE Elocon

Do not use Elocon
- If you or your child are allergic (hypersensitive) to mometasone furoate ingredients of Elocon or to other corticosteroids;
- If available and other lesions of the scalp, and bacterial (impetigo), viral (varicella, herpes simplex, herpes zoster) or fungal infection (candida or dermatophyte).

If you are in doubt about such disabilities, consult your doctor.
Take special care with Elocon

- Application in childhood should be limited to no more than 5 days.
- Elocon should not be used in large quantities for a long period of time or on broken skin surface.
- In the event of severe irritation or an allergic reaction, stop treatment and contact your doctor immediately.
Taking other medicines
There are no known interactions with other medicines.
Pregnancy and lactation
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before using Elocon.
Still not enough information about the safety of using Elocon in pregnant women. Topical administration of corticosteroids to pregnant animals can cause abnormal fetal development, including cleft palate and intrauterine growth retardation. It can not exist, although very small risk of such effects to the fetus in humans.
It is not known whether topical administration of corticosteroids could result in sufficient absorption and detection in milk.
Your doctor will decide whether you can use Elocon during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.
Driving and operating machinery
No effect.
Important information about some of the ingredients of Elocon
Elocon cutaneous solution contains propylene glycol which may cause skin irritation.

HOW TO USE Elocon

Always use Elocon cutaneous solution exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you're not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Usually in adults (including the elderly) and children advocates a few drops of Elocon cutaneous solution once daily to the affected part of the hairy scalp and gently massage until complete absorption of the solution.
It is recommended to wash hands after application of Elocon.
This product is intended for use on the hair of the scalp. It should not be used on other parts of the body. Get in eyes or in the immediate vicinity should be avoided.
If you use more than the amount of Elocon
In case of accidental ingestion by mouth (particular caution should be exercised in children) is not expected adverse drug reactions. If you're still worried, ask the advice of your doctor.
Do not use this medicine more often or for longer than prescribed, as in these cases may experience some symptoms of overdose (see section 4 Possible side effects). Acute symptoms of overdose are reversible. Treatment is symptomatic.
If you forget to use Elocon
If you forget to use Elocon, do it as soon as possible, then return to the normal schedule.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Like all medicines, Elocon cutaneous solution can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
In general, treatment with Elocon be tolerated.
Sometimes it can occur: irritation, itching, burning, stinging, tingling, inflammation of hair follicles, increased hair growth, acne, discoloration or thinning of the skin, stretch marks, milia, secondary infections, and contact allergy.
As with all steroids, use Elocon cutaneous solution on the major surface of the scalp, in greater quantities and for a long period of time can lead to increased absorption through the skin in quantities causing general (systemic) side effects. These may include swelling of the face, neck and torso weight gain in children - impact on growth and development. In such cases it is necessary to consult with your doctor. Children are more susceptible than adults to such effects because of higher ratio of skin surface / weight.

HOW TO STORE Elocon

Do not store above 25 ° C.
Do not use Elocon cutaneous solution after the expiry date stated on the pack.
The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Shelf life after first opening the container: 3 months.
Keep out of reach of children.
